Faithful relationship between Vietnam and Laos highlighted
PANO – “Faithful relationship between Vietnam and Laos’ border areas” was a theme of a special art program taking place at the Moc Chau Conference Center in Son La on July 22.
The event started off the first Vietnam-Laos Border Friendship Exchange in 2017, hosted by the Vietnam Border Guard Command on July 22 and 23.

The special exchange program witnessed the participation of Senior Lieutenant General Be Xuan Truong, Deputy Defense Minister; Major General Le Hien Van, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army; Lieutenant General Onsy Senesouk, Lao Deputy Defense Minister; military attachés of Laos, Cambodia, and Myanmar to Vietnam; and representatives of relevant ministries and sectors.
The event was held in a series of activities in celebration of 40 years of the signing of the Vietnam-Laos Treaty of Amity and Cooperation and the 55th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam-Laos diplomatic ties. It is also to honor the two countries’ border guard forces, day and night safeguarding and building the shared borderline, contributing to strengthening the traditional friendship and special solidarity between Vietnam and Laos.
On this occasion, the Vietnam Border Guard Command presented a friendship medical station to border people in the area of Moc Chau district (Son La province, Vietnam) and Sop Bau district (Hua Phan province, Laos) and 100 cattle to needy families, worth VND 1.5 billion, and 10 scholarships to disadvantaged students in both provinces.
