The event was part of the Vietnamese MND delegation’s activities while accompanying Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on his official visit to the RoK.

At the meeting, Gen. Vinh expressed thanks to Mayor Choi Dae Ho for the reception and arrangement of the Vietnamese delegation’s visit to An Yang’s smart city operation center.

He spoke highly of the significance of the Vietnamese government leader’s visit to the RoK this time in order to enhance the substantive cooperation across all fields with the RoK, commensurate with the two countries’ comprehensive strategic partnership.

The Vietnamese defense leader stressed that the RoK is a big investment and trade partner of Vietnam.

Noting that the Vietnamese MND is concentrating on digital transformation, and e-government to improve capacity and effectiveness of management, Gen. Vinh expressed that the Vietnamese ministry is willing to learn from experience of the RoK in applying information technology and ensuring information security in this regard.

For his part, Mayor Choi Dae Ho expressed his delight at welcoming the Vietnamese delegation to the city. He briefed the guests on An Yang city which belongs to Gyeonggi province and is home to 1,764 enterprises, mainly specializing in high technology and electronics.

According to the city’s leader, the smart city operation center has applied information technology to managing the city in order to bring benefits to local people.

During the visit to the center, the Vietnamese delegation was introduced to the center’s advanced technologies.
