At the reception, General Giang congratulated the guest on his new appointment as Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam, and hoped that the ambassador would successfully fulfill his job during the term of office in Vietnam and contribute to fostering the comprehensive partnership between the two countries, including defense cooperation.

General Giang affirmed that the bilateral defense ties have been effectively promoted in various fields and achieved significant progress, contributing to deepening the bilateral comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership and foster the building of a Vietnam-China community with a shared future.

Over the past time, the bilateral defense cooperation has continued to be an important pillar in the two countries’ relations, demonstrated via practical and effective cooperation in exchanges of all-level delegations, especially high-level ones, collaboration between arms and services, education and training, defense industry, joint research, border management and protection, to name but a few.

In the time to come, especially within the second half of the year, General Giang urged the two sides to focus on agreed contents to contribute to concretizing a direction of the Vietnam-China Joint Statement on “more practical defense - security cooperation,” particularly in field of exchanges of all-level delegations, especially high-level ones.

At the same time, General Giang emphasized that the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense would support and create the most favorable conditions for the Chinese Ambassador during his duty in Vietnam.

For his part, Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam He Wei thanked General Giang for a warm reception and conveyed best wishes from leaders of the Chinese Central Military Commission and Ministry of National Defense to the Vietnamese Defense Minister. He also hoped to fulfill all missions in his term of office in Vietnam, making contribution to raising the relations between the two countries and militaries to new height.
