IAESEN Director Lieutenant General Rafael Zerpa Zambrano (second, from left) welcomes the delegation of the Vietnamese Embassy in Venezuela.

Speaking to students at the IAESEN, Ambassador My reviewed the history and development of the Vietnamese revolution. Under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV), Vietnam has implemented the renewal procsess, obtaining great achievements.

Regarding Vietnam’s foreign policy, the diplomat emphasized that Vietnam has consistently implemented the foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, peace, friendship, cooperation and development, diversification and multilateralization of international relations; proactively and actively engaging in international integration; and being a friend, a reliable partner, and a responsible member of the international community.

Vietnam has established diplomatic relations with all 193 member states of the United Nations, including official diplomatic relations with all 35 countries in America.

On defense policy, My said that Vietnam has built its defense strength based on the combined strength of the great national unity bloc, under the leadership of the CPV; and consistently pursued resolving all disputes and disagreements by peaceful means on the basis of international law.

In addition, Vietnam is consistently deploying a “four no’s” defense policy: not joining military alliances, not associating with one country against another, not allowing foreign countries to set up military bases or use Vietnamese territory to oppose other countries, and not using force or threatening to use force in international relations.

On this occasion, the diplomat answered questions of IAESEN students, helping them better understand the situation in Vietnam, its renewal process, foreign policy, defense policy, as well as the traditional friendship and comprehensive partnership between Vietnam and Venezuela.
