Information dissemination about Vietnam - Cambodia relations to be strengthened

The two generals emphasized the practical significance of their talks, saying that it helped promote the good neighborliness, time-honored friendship, comprehensive cooperation and long-term sustainability between the two countries and their militaries.

The Cambodian general underlined that Cambodia always bears in mind Vietnam’s support for the country’s liberation from the Pol Pot genocidal regime and for national revival and development. He also expressed gratitude to the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense for the assistance to its Cambodian counterpart over the past time.

During the talks, the two sides briefed each other on their agency’s functions and duties. Their discussions focused on the application of digital technologies to information dissemination and political education; the leadership and direction over political and ideological education; the implementation of social science and humanity education in the military, among others.

Both Vietnamese and Cambodian generals agreed that amidst intertwined opportunities and challenges in regional and global situation, it is necessary to preserve, constantly cultivate and develop the Vietnam - Cambodia relationship.

The two delegations at the talks

On the basis of the protocol on defense cooperation in the 2025-2029 period and the cooperation plan between the two defense ministries, the two sides were unanimous to continue to accelerate their cooperation in information dissemination and education on the significance and importance of strengthening the fine neighborliness, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation and long-term sustainability between the two nations and militaries in the new context. In addition, they agreed to enhance information exchange and sharing, ideological and public-opinion guidance, and joint efforts to fight against wrongful and hostile viewpoints on the internet. They reached agreement on effective coordination in organizing activities to celebrate major anniversaries and important events of the two countries and their militaries.
