Defense leader receives out-going Australian Defense Attaché

Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh received Australian Defense Attaché Colonel Nerolie McDonald.

At the reception, General Vinh highlighted the positive development in bilateral defense cooperation in different fields over the past time.

Highly appreciating Colonel McDonald’s contributions to enhancing defense cooperation between Vietnam and Australia over the past time, Vinh hoped that in her future position, the out-going Australian Defense Attaché will continue making efforts in expanding friendship and cooperation between the two countries in general and two militaries in particular. 

For her part, Colonel McDonald affirmed that Australia-Vietnam defense cooperation has strongly developed in training and UN peacekeeping operations. She thanked the Vietnamese Defense Ministry for creating favorable conditions for her to fulfil her assigned missions.

The out-going Australian Defense Attaché also congratulated Vietnam on taking over the ASEAN Chair in 2020 and expressed strong belief that Vietnam will fulfil the duty.
