General Quyet said that during their stay in Vietnam, the Cuban experts, the VMMU and other military medical facilities of Vietnam shared experience in COVID-19 prevention and control. They worked seriously and actively and met all of their set targets.

On behalf of the Vietnamese military medical sector, Quyet thanked the Cuban experts for their support during the outbreak of the second wave of COVID-19, including the provision of Interferon Alfa 2B drug. “You have helped Vietnam effectively control the second wave of COVID-19,” Quyet stated.

For his part, the Cuban head delegate Senior Colonel Manuel Jesus Seijas Gonzalez thanked the host for their assistance so that they could fulfil their missions. He hoped that the two sides will further their cooperation, especially in military medicine, and prevention and control of diseases and natural disasters, to name but a few.

On behalf of the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense, General Don handed over a certificate of merit to the Cuban delegation in recognition of their contributions to the country’s COVID-19 combat.

On the basis of the newly-signed minutes, the two sides will submit the cooperation plans between the Vietnamese and Cuban military medical sectors in the 2021-2025 period to their leaders for approval.
