Rear Admiral Nguyen Van Quan, Commander of Naval Region 2, personally welcomed and congratulated the delegation at the port.
Immediately after receiving the plan from the Naval Command and the orders of the Commander of Naval Region 2, the delegation and the Party committees of the two ships studied and set out leadership measures, identifying this as a key political task in 2025.
This activity carried important significance, concretizing the common understanding reached between the senior leaders of the Ministries of National Defense of the two countries. It also helped promote exchanges, strengthen friendship, enhance cooperation, and build trust and mutual understanding between the armed forces and navies of Vietnam and China.

Earlier, from November 19 to 20, the Vietnam People’s Navy and the Southern Theater Command Navy of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army conducted their 39th joint patrol in the waters of the Gulf of Tonkin.
During the joint patrol, the two sides coordinated in various training activities, including maritime search and rescue, simplified communication procedures, formation maneuvering, and drills on ship survivability.

Addressing the crews upon their return, Rear Admiral Nguyen Van Quan praised the efforts of the delegation and the crews of Ships 09 and 17. Despite complex weather conditions, with waves reaching levels 6–7, the officers and soldiers successfully fulfilled their mission, contributing to maintaining peace, stability, cooperation, and development in the relations between Vietnam and China.
