She received the State President’s decision to assign her to the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) on October 30, at the Headquarters of the Ministry of National Defense.

The decision-announcement ceremony was chaired by Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh, member of the Party Central Committee, permanent member of the Central Military Commission, Deputy-Minister of National Defense, and Head of the Defense Ministry’s Steering Committee for Vietnam’s participation in UN peacekeeping operations.

Major Nga is also the 20th military officer of Vietnam to participate in UN peacekeeping operations.

In order to meet all requirements of the upcoming assignment, she had took part in a number of training courses on UN peacekeeping operations in Sri Lanka, China, the Republic of Korea (RoK), Uganda, and the Netherlands.
