At the event, delegates highlighted that amid the complicated development of the disease in the world and in the region, ASEAN’s military medical forces should make great efforts to prevent the spread of SARS-CoV-2. Therefore, they should map out a scientific, effective, and practical plan.
During the conference, participants discussed and built action plans in the exercise with the aim of learning from the experiences of military and medical forces in ASEAN member nations in the fight against COVID-19; clarifying coordination between the military and medical sectors as well as other functional forces, analyzing shortcomings in the plan in response to the pandemic, and building an action plan to increase the preparedness of ASEAN’s military and medical forces in line with an anti-disease plan from the World Health Organization (WHO)…
Furthermore, they also worked out solutions to promote cooperation in scientific and professional research, contributing to defining the roles and responsibilities of military and medical sectors of the ASEAN member countries in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic and fields in which they could join hands, or cooperate with other organizations in response to the disease.
