At the event held at the headquarters of the Russian Ministry of Defense in Moscow, the Russian general informed that the Army Games 2021 and the International Military-Technical Forum (Army-2021 Forum) will open on August 23 at the Patriot Convention and Exhibition Center on the outskirts of Moscow.

Saying that all preparations for the opening ceremony of the two aforementioned events have been complete, General Gerasimov confirmed that they have received due attention at home and abroad. Among 34 competition events for this year’s games, three are newly-debuted. This year, Algeria, Vietnam, Qatar, and Serbia will co-host the games for the first time. Attentively, this is the first time Brazil, Burkina Faso, Cyprus, Malaysia, Cameroon and the Kingdom of Eswatini have sent troops to compete at the games.

A ceremony to close the games and hand over cups to winning countries will be held after the final match of the Tank Biathlon event on September 4.

According to General Gerasimov, the Army-2021 Forum, taking place at Patriot Park, Kubinka airfield, Alabino training ground and other exhibition areas at military regions and the Northern Fleet, will see the participation of representatives of 115 countries and more than 1,500 businesses.

The Russian general added that more than 28,000 samples of products and technologies will be introduced during the forum.

In the framework of the forum, the host country Russia will have theme exhibition areas highlighting “ERA” military innovation technologies, “Innovation Day of Russian Ministry of Defense,” “Diversification of Russian Defense Industry Complex,” and “Arctic.”

Also at the meeting, Rostec State Corporation’s Deputy General Director Dmitry Lelikov revealed that the corporation will exhibit 50 new products at the Army-2021 Forum.
