An Giang border guards and Cambodian unit conduct joint patrol
PANO - On June 19, the Border Post of Ha Tien International Border Gate under the Border Guard Command of Vietnam’s An Giang province and Battalion 335 of Cambodia’s Kampot province conducted a joint patrol along the border section from Border Markers No.312 to No.314.
The joint patrol was carried out in accordance with the plan previously agreed upon by both sides.
During the patrol and working sessions, both parties strictly complied with regulations and guidelines on foreign affairs activities. Participating personnel followed the patrol commander’s orders and ensured absolute safety of personnel, weapons, equipment, and vehicles.
Following the ceremonial procedures, the two sides jointly inspected the condition of the borderline, border markers, boundary signs, border visibility corridors, and the security and public order situation along the shared border. They also exchanged information related to border management, security, and public order issues, and signed the joint patrol minutes.
According to Colonel Nguyen Tan Duong, Commanding Officer of the Border Post of Ha Tien International Border Gate, the patrol provided an opportunity for the two units to meet and exchange information on issues of mutual concern regarding the border area.

He added that the two sides discussed and agreed on future coordination measures to effectively address illegal border crossings, smuggling, and trade fraud, while contributing to maintaining security and public order and promoting economic development in border areas.
