Managing Director of Vekaria Healthcare LLP Yogendra Vekaria and General Director of Nanogen Pharmaceutical Biotechnology JSC Ho Nhan sign a non-disclosure agreement at the Vietnam Embassy in India.

The agreement will be a basis for the two companies to further discuss details of their cooperation in expansion of the third phase of human trials, large-scale production and distribution of the vaccine when it is licensed for emergency use.

With dense population and scientific and technological advances, India has become a partner of a lot of major pharmaceutical companies in the world in researching, testing, and developing new products.

The signing of the aforementioned agreement is a remarkable result of the “Rapid response team on medicines and vaccines” formed by Ambassador Pham Sanh Chau  with members from the Vietnam Trade Office in India, the Division of Science and Technology, and other key officials at the Vietnamese Embassy in India.

The team’s tasks are to promptly buy Remdesivir, Molnupiravir, and Favipiravir to support the treatment for COVID-19 patients in Vietnam, call on the Government of India to provide oxygen concentrators, and negotiate with Indian businesses to buy necessary medical equipment, test, purchase, and manufacture COVID-19 vaccines in Vietnam and India. The team is also in charge of promoting the building of a pharmaceutical park in Vietnam and more.

Earlier, a delegation from the Vietnamese Embassy in India and the Vietnam Trade Office in India worked with major Indian pharmaceutical companies on purchase of vaccines, pharmaceuticals, and medical equipment for COVID-19 treatment. Indian businesses pledged to provide 1 million doses of Remdesivir for Vietnam. The batches of the drug are on the way to Vietnam.

The embassy is speeding up the building of a pharmaceutical park in Vietnam which covers about 500 hectares with initial investment capital of USD 500 million. The park is expected to create jobs for 50,000 direct laborers and 200,000 indirect workers and generate USD 5 billion in export revenue.
