Talks boost ties between Indian state and Vietnam
PANO - Talks between Hoang Binh Quan, member of the Party Central Committee (PCC) and Head of the PCC’s Commission for External Relations and Sarbananda Sonowal, Chief Minister of Assam and a senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party of India, took place on May 14 in Hanoi.
The Chief Minister of Assam is leading a high ranking delegation to visit Vietnam from May 13 to 16 at the invitation of the PCC’s Commission for External Relations.

During the talks, Quan highlighted this first-ever visit of the delegation to Vietnam in the framework of the Guest of Honor Program agreed by the PCC’s Commission for External Relations and the Ministry of External Affairs of India, saying that it aimed to realize the agreement reached by the two countries’ leadership, contributing to cementing Vietnam-India’s time-honored relationship and comprehensive strategic partnership in general and enhancing cooperation between Vietnamese localities and the Indian state of Assam.
For his part, the Chief Minister of Assam held that the state has advantages in agriculture-forestry-fishery, minerals, tourism, and services. He also underscored the useful and necessary experience gained and the many cooperation opportunities created during the visit.
