Friendship order presented to outgoing Japanese ambassador
PANO - Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh handed over a friendship order to Japanese ambassador to Vietnam Umeda Kunio who is going to finish his term in the country.
At the reception for the outgoing Japanese ambassador on March 25 in Hanoi, Minh highly valued his sentiments and all-out efforts during his tenure, saying that he has actively contributed to enhancing the Vietnam-Japan extensive strategic partnership.

The Vietnamese senior official underscored that the two countries have substantially developed their relationship in all fields in a comprehensive and practical manner over the past three years. He highlighted high-level visits which have strengthened bilateral political trust.
Minh also laid stress on the strong bilateral economic cooperation and affirmed that Japan remains the top investor and a leading trade and tourism partner of Vietnam. He thanked and hailed Japan for its continued supply of ODA to the country, thus making active and effective contributions to the country’s socio-economic development.
For his part, Ambassador Umeda Kunio thanked Minh and the Foreign Ministry of Vietnam for their support to help him complete his assignments.
The Japanese diplomat expressed his delight at the strong development of the bilateral ties and said that Vietnam has become an important and trustworthy partner of Japan in politics, security, and economics and human resource training.
He spoke highly of the Vietnamese government’s drastic measures against COVID-19. He hoped that the two countries will further their cooperation in the field and promised to continue to make contributions to the fine development of the friendship and cooperation between the two nations.
