At the meeting, Hai handed over a telegram of congratulations from General Secretary of the CPV Central Committee To Lam to M.A. Baby on the occasion of his election as General Secretary of the CPI-M at the party’s 24th congress in early April.

The ambassador emphasized the good tradition and developments in the relationship between the two Parties.

Hai informed the CPI-M leader about the strong development of Vietnam under the CPV’s leadership as well as the major orientations for national construction and development and Party building towards the 14th National Party Congress, such as the ongoing restructuring of the central and local apparatuses and the strategic resolutions of the CPV to develop the country in all fields.

The ambassador also proposed a number of measures to promote relations between the two parties, such as increasing information sharing and delegation exchanges, especially high-level delegations, thereby contributing to strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries in the coming time.

For his part, the CPI-M leader expressed appreciation for Lam’s good wishes, and emphasized the close bond between the two Parties that has been tested through history.

He affirmed that President Ho Chi Minh has always been a great source of inspiration for generations of Indian people.

He also lauded Vietnam’s recent development achievements, and noted that promoting good relations with Vietnam has always been a consistent and consensus policy of political forces in India.

M.A Baby agreed with proposals to enhance cooperation between the two Parties, saying the Indian side will continue its coordination to implement measures to further enhance the ties.
