Governor-General Mostyn expressed her admiration after viewing images showcasing Vietnam's landscapes and people, and shared her particular enjoyment of the music video “Bac Bling”. She noted that young Australian artists are also exploring creative innovations to revitalize and bring indigenous cultural and artistic values closer to the global audience.

She voiced her strong support for promoting high-level and all-level exchanges between the two countries, and proposed enhancing the sharing of experiences on gender equality, and strengthening people-to-people exchanges, and cultural and tourism cooperation. She also praised the contributions of the Vietnamese community in Australia to the host country.
Highlighting the importance of education collaboration in Vietnam–Australia relations, Governor-General Mostyn agreed that this is a key area that fosters connection and mutual understanding between the two peoples, while also making a positive contribution to Australia’s economy. She expressed her interest in the matter and pledged to further discuss ways to facilitate student visa issuance for Vietnamese students.
For his part, Ambassador Tam informed Governor-General Mostyn of the significant achievements in Vietnam–Australia cooperation, notably the upgrade of bilateral relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in March 2024 during the official visit to Australia by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.
The ambassador and heads of Vietnam’s diplomatic missions in Australia also introduced aspects of Vietnamese culture, history, and people; key socio-economic development policies of the Vietnamese Party and State; as well as the country’s desire to further strengthen cooperation with Australia in areas such as economy, trade, investment, education and training, science and technology, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges.
He thanked the Australian side for creating favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community to live, work, and study in Australia, thereby enriching the country’s multicultural values and contributing to the bilateral friendship. He also expressed his hope that Australia will continue to offer greater support for Vietnamese students pursuing education there.
On this occasion, the diplomat invited Governor-General Mostyn and Australian officials to enjoy traditional Vietnamese cuisine.
