PANO – Milk plant Angkor – the first milk-processing project of the Vietnam Dairy Products Joint Stock Company (Vinamilk) in Cambodia – was opened on May 25th in Phnom Penh, in the presence of Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister Men Sam On.

The inauguration ceremony

Plant leaders presented 500 packs of water-milk worth USD $10,000 to disadvantaged children in Phnom Penh at the opening.

Built on 30,000 m2 in the Phnom Penh Industrial Zone, at a cost of USD $23 million invested over one year, the factory is equipped with the latest technology, synchronized from load-pouring and processing to packaging. All the stages - including design, building and installation - are in compliance with international standards on food and environmental safety.

In the first production stage (2016-2023), the factory’s capacity will be 19 million litres of milk, 64 million boxes of yoghurt, and 80 million boxes of condensed milk. In the next stage (from 2024 on), the factory will have a capacity of 38 million litres of milk and 192 million boxes of yoghurt per year for Cambodia and neighboring markets.

Earlier, Vinamilk obtained an overseas investment license to invest in the high-quality milk processing plant with Cambodia’s BPC Trading Limited Company on July 24th, 2013, with Vinamilk owning 51 per cent of the shares in the joint venture.
