The Tan Cang - Saigon Corporation (TCSC) held a ceremony to unveil a major deepwater container port at Tan Cang-Cai Mep Port in Tan Thanh District, Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province, on March 16th.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Hoang Trung Hai, Deputy-Prime Minister, highly appreciated the TCSC’s effort to put the Tan Cang-Cai Mep port into operation, opening up a new exploitation phase for deepwater container ports in Vietnam.
In addition, Mr. Hai also suggested the TCSC improve its capacity to ensure competitiveness in the world market to help Vietnam become a strong sea-based economy.
The Tan Cang-Cai Mep is the first port capable of exporting Vietnamese goods to the USA and EU without transit in a third country, which will shorten journeys by 7-10 days.
