After six year of researching and testing, at the end of 2016, Viettel officially operated the vOCS 3.0 and within six months, the corporation successfully transferred 90 million subscribers to its charging system.

The vOCS 3.0, developed by Viettel, is able to manage up to 24 million subscribers/sites, doubling the capacity of the most powerful existing charging system in the world.

The vOCS 3.0, developed by Viettel, is able to manage up to 24 million subscribers/sites, doubling the capacity of the most powerful existing charging system in the world.
Moreover, vOCS 3.0 is derivable and can provide each user a personalized cost plan, which other OCSs could not.

Viettel saves USD 70 million due to its self-developed vOCS 3.0, which has been applied in six countries of East Timor, Cameroon, Burundi, Peru, and Vietnam with the total subscribers of 140 million.

Viettel plans to implement this system in all of the countries it operates. The company also expects to package and introduce this product to other service providers worldwide.

OCS is considered the heart of a service provider as it contains database related to a subscriber’s real-time cost and a telecommunications company’s business policies, services, and products. Only about 20 companies worldwide today own this system. Therefore, with the application of vOCS 3.0 and management of over 140 million subscribers, Viettel has become one of the biggest companies with such a system in the world.

According to Nguyen Dinh Chien, Viettel’s Deputy General Director for Research and Development, Viettel researched and self-developed the system to enhance information security of its users and the cyberspace. The company plans to develop and apply 100 per cent of its telecommunications products by 2020.

Recently, the IT World Awards has announced that Viettel’s vOCS 3.0 wins the Silver award for the most creative IT product. The awarding ceremony is scheduled to take place on June 26 in San Francisco, the U.S.A.
