Since 2009, the military business allocated VND 80 billion to assist Ba Thuoc, one of the two poor districts in Thanh Hoa province under the support from Program 30a, to upgrade its infrastructure, promote socio-economic development, and raise education and healthcare quality and local people’s living standards. In the 2019-2020 period, Viettel has granted the district VND 18 billion. Viettel has contributed to Ba Thuoc district’s hunger elimination and poverty reduction, Khoa added.
According to Director of the Viettel’s branch in Thanh Hoa province Cao Manh Duc, since 2009, Viettel has helped three out of 61 districts in the Government’s 30a program reduce their poverty rates. Over the past ten years, they have presented 1,838 breeding cattle and built 795 houses for people in Muong Lat and Ba Thuoc districts.
Apart from the above activities, Viettel assisted the two districts in building five infirmaries and three schools, contributing to raising their healthcare and education quality.
Viettel is among the first businesses to join the Government’s program 30a. Since its participation ten years ago, Viettel has also added other social programs, including “Internet at schools,” “Heart for you,” “For Studious Students,” and “Cattle for Needy People in Border Areas,” to raise the efficiency of poverty reduction.
