According to a report delivered at the meeting, the group’s pre-tax profit was VND 51 trillion, reaching 111% of the plan, growing by 11.3%. Attentively, Viettel contributed VND 42.6 trillion to the State budget, up 12.3%. The average income of its personnel increased by 6%.

The growth momentum came from the maintenance of domestic telecommunications growth, the development of international business, the successful research, manufacturing and commercialization of high-tech products, the development of logistics, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence (AI) and digital technology.

In 2024, Viettel successfully converted 6.5 million 2G subscribers to 4G ones before the 2G Only service was discontinued in just 10 months, a remarkable result since many other network providers in the world needed three years to do. At the same time, Viettel installed more than 6,000 BTSs to expand 4G coverage.

Notably, 2024 was the eighth consecutive year witnessing Viettel’s overseas markets grow with double digits (17.3%).

Viettel recovered capital in five overseas markets. The group also officially launched 5G services in Peru and Laos. In Burundi, it is the first and only network operator to be granted a free 5G test frequency license by the local government.

Viettel is now in the top 5% of network operators in the world with the most modern 5G architecture. In 2025, the group will develop 12,000 new 5G stations in Vietnam.

It is worth noting that last year, Viettel official launched first Vietnam’s logistics park in Lang Son. It will continue perfect the network of logistics centers nationwide to serve key economic zones, contributing to turning Vietnam into an important logistics center of the region.

In the field of high-tech industry, many Viettel’s products have been applied to training and combat readiness tasks, contributing to the modernization of the military, enhancing defense capabilities, and protecting the Fatherland. Moreover, Viettel successfully tested and approved many strategic weapons, ready for mass production and widespread use in units under the Ministry of National Defense.

Last year, Viettel signed contracts to export radar and training simulation systems to Malaysia and the Philippines, and 5G equipment to India and nine Middle Eastern countries, realizing the vision of a global technology group.

It also spent over VND 530 billion on social security programs.

With their efforts, Viettel’s affiliates were honored with noble titles. Viettel Aerospace Institute was awarded with the Hero of the People’s Armed Forces title while Viettel Construction Joint Stock Corporation was bestowed with the Labor Hero title.

In his speech, Viettel’s Chairman and General Director Major General Tao Duc Thang underlined that the group’s achievements came from the care of the Party, State, Ministry of National Defense’s leaders, the foundation laid by the older generations of the group, the determination and responsibility of the present generation. He also attributed the group’s success to the collective spirit.
