The military business has also offered a special preferential package to organizations and workers participating in the fight against COVID-19. So, medical workers, public security and military troops and volunteers working in concentrated quarantine zones will be given free services, including 2GB high speed data/day, on-net calls lasting less than 20 minutes and 50 minutes of off-net calls per month. This preferential package will be available until the epidemic is contained.

For subscribers in quarantine, Viettel will provide a 14-day preferential package, including 3GB of high-speed data/day and free on-calls under 20 minutes. Viettel’s local branches will contact the steering board of each concentrated quarantine area to make a list of quarantined people and support them in registering for the services.

Viettel will also offer free calls to portal 19009095 which updates information relating to COVID-19 and the hotline +84 981848484 which supports overseas Vietnamese during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In addition, as requested by the Department of Telecommunications under the Ministry of Information and Communications, Viettel and other mobile network operators will change their icons to the message, “Stay at home.” The step aims to raise public awareness of COVID-19 prevention.
