Together with production and doing business, Viettel has actively applied technology to COVID-19 prevention and control and given financial support and services to people and business community to help them overcome COVID-19-caused difficulties.

Specifically, Viettel has donated VND 450 billion to the national vaccine fund, given VND 110 billion to assist the poor in Ho Chi Minh City and Southern localities.

The group has also developed COVID-19 prevention solutions, such as Telehealth, national COVID-19 vaccination management platform, e-health book application, and installed cameras to monitor activities at quarantine facilities.

In addition, Viettel has granted 37,000 computer sets and offered free data access and usage of e-learning platform to disadvantaged students.

The group has also installed an addition of 1,500 4G base transceiver stations and carried out solutions to raise 4G coverage in almost all localities conducting social distancing.

Though the group was badly impacted by the pandemic, it still contributed VND 16 trillion to the State budget in the first half of this year. In the first six months of this year, its revenue increased by 6.8 percent and its pre-tax profit saw an increase of 3.1 percent against the same period last year.

In the international arena, Viettel has become one of the fastest 5G telecommunications networks in Asia when its 5G speed reached a record of 4.7Gb per second in the latest test. Viettel is also the Vietnamese enterprise with the most patents in the United States, making important contribution to the "Make in Vietnam" national vision.
