Colonel Bui Quang Tuyen, Director of Viettel Academy, chaired the event. The event saw the attendance of Dr. Can Van Luc, Chief Economist of the Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) cum President of BIDV Training and Research Institute. He is also a Member of the National Financial and Monetary Policy Advisory Council.
In 2023, Viettel’s leaders have set targets to strengthen business activities and investment in foreign markets. Therefore, Viettel has promoted updating knowledge about international business for Viettel’s management staff to ensure qualified human resources, meeting the requirements of business development strategies in foreign markets.
During the event, Dr. Can Van Luc talked about international economic trends in the new context amid the influences of the COVID-19 pandemic and the war in Ukraine.
He also noted eight crucial issues, including uneven and uncertain recovery; changes in fiscal and monetary policy and financial risks; changes in globalization and economic linkages; green economy development and recovery; digital transformation and energy transition; climate changes; among others.

Contrary to concerns about economic recession, financial risks and energy security, etc., several trends have emerged promising to make breakthroughs for the economy, such as the trend of shifting towards the digital economy, green finance, energy transformation, green real estate, to name but a few.
According to the BIDV chief economist, Viettel’s management staff should enrich their understanding of integration, markets and partners, improve foreign language skills and broaden their knowledge about international laws. They should be equipped with a professional working style, teamwork skills, working skills in a multicultural environment, and more.
Concluding the workshop, Colonel Bui Quang Tuyen affirmed that the event brought new perspectives to Viettel’s management staff about international business trends in the era of Industry 4.0 and development targets of global enterprises.
At the event, some solutions were also suggested to approach effective management and operation methods amid the impacts of the environment on production and business activities involving foreign elements.
