Addressing the event, Defense Minister General Phan Van Giang highly praised and applauded generations of MB leaders and staff for their great efforts, high determination and outstanding achievements over the past three decades. He emphasized that MB has made important contribution to the general outcomes of the banking sector and the country.

He highlighted the bank’s innovation, creativity, great ambition and aspiration and its strong development as well as excellent completion of tasks assigned by the government and the Ministry of National Defense.

Regarding missions in the coming time, Gen. Giang asked the bank to continue embracing and strictly implementing higher levels’ guidelines, policies, and strategies on socio-economic development and military-defense-related directions. He urged it to observe State law, military discipline, ensure operational effectiveness, safety, and promote social responsibility, traditional corporate culture, among others.

He also requested the bank to pay attention to building healthy and exemplary party committees, comprehensively strong and typical unit, enhance the study and following of President Ho Chi Minh’s thought, morality and style, and other movements, and further apply technological and scientific advancements. In the short term, the bank should successfully carry out its 2022-2026 strategy with a vision to 2030 on becoming a digital enterprise, a leading financial group, and being one of the top five commercial banks in Vietnam.

According to the report by Senior Colonel Luu Trung Thai, MB’s Chairman of the Board of Directors, MB is a bank with pre-tax profit reaching USD 1 billion, listed in the top 3 of the banking sector. At the end of the third quarter of this year, its total asset reached VND 1,028,819 billion, bringing MB into the group of enterprises with the total assets of over VND 1 quadrillion.
