Under the agreement, both companies will collaborate on testing the 5G Private Network service for the entire production line of a Pegatron factory located in Hai Phong city, covering a total area of 4,500 sq.m. This will involve deploying 12 applications, including augmented reality/virtual reality (AR/VR), code scanning, data processing, product testing, and Dynamics 365 for live streaming. It is the first smart factory in Vietnam to be automated using 5G mobile services thanks to its advantages of high speed, low latency, and support for multiple connections.

Based on the test results, Viettel Networks and Pegatron will complete the product suite for 5G Private Network services for smart factories, including network equipment and related applications. The two sides will also cooperate in developing 5G services in terms of technology, terminal equipment, research, and production, with the goal of popularizing 5G services in Vietnam.

During the signing ceremony, Chairman and General Director of Viettel Group Tao Duc Thang stated that Viettel has mastered 5G core technologies to enhance technological applications and better serve people's lives. The technical characteristics of 5G technology offer outstanding advantages in the industrial sector, opening up new development opportunities for telecommunications to connect not only people but also things.

Currently, Viettel is one of six network operators in the world that provides telecommunications services and manufactures network infrastructure equipment. The company has successfully tested 5G technology for individual customers in Vietnam since 2020. The 5G Private Network service for corporate customers helps Viettel complete its service ecosystem, heralding a new era for the use of 5G services in the near future.
