Vietnamese national men's football team donates to COVID vaccine fund
PANO - In response to a call by the Prime Minister, the Vietnamese national men's football team on June 8 contributed VND 300 million to the COVID-19 vaccine fund to support the country’s efforts to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.

On behalf of the team, Coach Park Hang-seo thanked Vietnamese leaders and fans for their great support and encouragement to the team over the past time. He expressed a strong belief that under the leadership of the Party, State and Government and with Vietnamese people’s indomitable spirit, high resolve and discipline, Vietnam will successfully contain the pandemic.
Vietnamese team captain Que Ngoc Hai extended best wishes to fans. He said that all members of the national team were vaccinated against the COVID-19 before going to the United Arab Emirates for the second qualifying round of the 2022 World Cup, so they are fully aware of the significance of the COVID-19 vaccination fund.
Hai hoped that the donation will partly help the country contain the COVID-19 pandemic and promised to make all out efforts to achieve more success in the 2022 World Cup’s qualifying round to encourage the Vietnamese people in the COVID-19 fight.
As planned, the Vietnamese national men's football team will play against their Malaysian rivals on June 11.
