Vietnam makes impressive start at AFC Women’s Asian Cup Qualifiers
PANO - With a resounding 7-0 victory over the Maldives, the Vietnam women’s national football team made a great start at the 2026 AFC Women’s Asian Cup qualifiers.
On June 29, the Vietnam women’s team faced the Maldives in their opening match of Group E in the qualifiers at Viet Tri Stadium (Phu Tho).

In the 7th minute, striker Minh Chuyen delivered a cross from the right side into the penalty box. Although a Maldives defender attempted to clear, the ball remained in play, allowing midfielder Van Su to open the scoring for Vietnam.
The hosts took early control of the match, and ending the first half with a commanding 6-0 lead. The final goal came midway through the second half, sealing a comprehensive win for Vietnam.
According to the schedule, Vietnam will face the UAE at 19:00 on July 2.
