Military shooter breaks national record
PANO - Female shooter Phi Thanh Thao from the military team has set a new record in the women’s 10-meter air rifle event at the National Shooting Championship 2021.
The National Shooting Championship 2021, running from March 25 to April 3, has drawn the participation of over 200 shooters from 12 teams nationwide.

The shooters competed in various women and men events, including rifle shooting, rifle prone, pistol, sports pistol, team air rifle, and more.
With the new record set by young shooter Phi ThanhThao, the military team has secured the first place with 10 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze.
The military team was followed by the Hanoi City team with 4 gold, 3 silver, and 3 bronze. The Ho Chi Minh City team ranked third with 1 gold, 6 silver, and 2 bronze.
Regarding athletes in this year’s shooting tourney, Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhung, Coach of the National Shooting Team, said that this year’s championship saw the participation of many young shooters, which is a good sign. Through this tournament, the organizers will also evaluate the ability of shooters in preparation for selecting athletes for the National Shooting Team.
