According to Topas, a Danish-Vietnamese company, the organizer of the race, Hanoi International Marathon 2019 is not only for long distance runners aiming for the 42km. It also features unique routes of 10km and 21km, taking runners past Hanoi’s key landmarks such as the Old Quarter, Hanoi Opera House and West Lake.

Supported by the Hanoi’s People’s Committee, the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports and the Embassy of Denmark, the race is hoped to promote Hanoi as a world-class destination, attracting thousand people in Vietnam and from all over world, said Charge d’Affairs of the Embassy of Denmark in Hanoi Christian Brix Moller.

At the press conference, Mr. David Lloyd, Director of Sport at Topas expressed a hope that there would be increasingly more domestic and international runners joining the race, during which they can learn more about the beautiful capital city of Hanoi and the awareness of doing exercise to improve health will be raised.

David Lloyd added that money raised during the race would be sent to Topas’ charity partners, including Newborns Vietnam, a British-Vietnamese non-governmental organization working to reduce neonatal mortality in Vietnam and Operation Smile.
