The exchange was jointly held by the Capital Women Newspaper, the Hanoi Departments of Information and Communications and Culture and Sports.
At SEA Games 31, female athletes brought more than half of the gold medals for the Vietnam Sports Team. Other golds were also contributed by female teams, such as Vietnamese women’s football squad (winning the seventh golds in the history of the games and the third consecutive gold) and women’s handball team. And the Hanoi’s female athletes contributed their part to the aforementioned overall achievements.
In the opening speech of the exchange, Le Kim Anh, member of the Presidium of the Vietnam Women’s Union Central Committee, member of the Hanoi Party Committee, and Chairwoman of Hanoi Women’s Union Organization, expressed her pride in excellent contribution of the municipal female coaches and athletes.
She highlighted their great efforts to practice hard, overcome difficulties, especially physical pains caused by injuries during training, emotional pains by the loss of a beloved family member, leave privacy behind, and showed high resolve to bring glory to the country.

During the exchange, audiences heard touching and interesting stories weaved by female coaches and athletes during competitions and the journey to achieve high results at SEA Games 31.
Coach Nguyen Hoang Ngan shared that she was proud and happy when 19 years ago she, as a karate fighter, won gold medals in individual and team categories at SEA Games 22. At SEA Games 31, her students made the same outcomes. She sent a message of “being confident in yourself” to karate fighters. She added that in any difficulties, family and coach always support them. “We should be proud of being Vietnamese women and Hanoi’s women and we will do great things at not only this year’s SEA Games, but also at other major tournaments in the world,” Ngan said.
As part of the exchange, the Hanoi Women’s Union presented certificates of merit to six coaches and 47 athletes and dancer Dang Thu Huong who won three golds in dancesport at SEA Games 31.
