The world-class cellist Julian will give a musical performance this evening at the Hanoi Opera House. In an interview with a Kinh Te Do Thi newspaper reporter, the British cellist said that “music is international language”.

According to Julian, music has a wonderful strength and is capable of breaking through any barriers in culture differences, language gaps and helps end hatred among people around the world.

He also stated that he sees a growing trend of using music to bridge gaps and remove barriers, such as war and hatred around the world.

As well, Julian says that music played using the cello resonates with the human soul. That is why he chose the cello as his instrument and why he keeps playing the cello, and not any other musical instruments.

Talking about the project entitled “In Harmony” assigned to him by the UK Government, Julian said the project aims to bring people in general, and children in particular, closer to each other. Children in the choir during his musical performances are given musical instruments and trained how to use them.

Through this project, poor children can learn how to play musical instruments and be introduced to classic music.
