Vietnamese films introduced in Poland
PANO - Two Vietnamese documentaries, “Phien cho vung cao” (Mountainous area’s fairs and “Mui Ne”, popularizing Vietnam’s tourism, were screened at the ongoing 42nd Polish Film Festival in Gdynia, Poland.
The films were produced by the Mountainous Areas, Seas and Islands-related Film Production Center under the Cinema Department of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
A Vietnam cinema delegation, led by Ngo Phuong Loan, head of the Cinema Department participated in the festival.

In the framework of the festival, taking place from September 18 to 21, the Vietnamese delegation met with the Polish Filmmakers’ Association to discuss preparations for the signing of a cooperation agreement between Vietnamese and Polish filmmakers during the Vietnam Film Festival, scheduled to be held between November 24 and 28, 2017 in the central city of Da Nang.
During the festival in Poland, the Vietnam Cinema Department, the Polish Filmmakers’ Association, the Vietnam-Poland Friendship Association and the Poland-Vietnam Friendship Association gathered Vietnamese and Polish filmmakers and Vietnamese community in Poland and screened a new feature film “Em chua 18” (Jailbait) by director Le Thanh Son and sponsored by Vietnamese businesses in Poland.
Addressing the meeting, Piotr Gadzinowsk, Deputy-Head and Secretary-General of the Poland-Vietnam Friendship Association expressed deep thanks to the Vietnam Cinema Department for their support for the expansion in further cooperation between the two countries’ cinema industry and for introducing new films to Polish viewers.
