Vietnam’s U-19 team defeated Thailand’s U21 team with a score of 2-1 to win the championship title at the U21 football tourney in Ho Chi Minh City on October 31.

The national team was awarded US$10,000 and Thailand’s team in second place won a prize worth US$7,000.

Previously, the U21 Thanh Nien (Youth) newspaper gained a 1-0 victory over U21 Malaysia and won the bronze medal.

Among the other awards, the most valuable player went to Vietnam’s U19 team captain Nguyen Van Quyet, the best goalkeeper to Suchin Yen-Arom of Thailand’s U21 team, and the best sportsmanship to the U21 Thanh Nien (Youth) newspaper team.
