Vietnam, Korea to organize cycling program for AO victims

PANO – A trans-Vietnam cycling program to call for more community support for Agent Orange victims and to mark the 20th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-RoK diplomatic relations will be put on from November 1st to 26th by the Vietnam Association of Victims of Agent Orange (VAVA) and Korea’s Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation (MBC).
The organizing panel announced at a press conference on October 25th that participants, including Vietnamese and Korean Agent Orange victims, artists and cyclists will depart from Nha Rong Wharf in Ho Chi Minh City on November 1st and finish in Hanoi November 26th, after passing through 19 provinces and cities.
Addressing the press conference, Nguyen Van Rinh, Chairman of VAVA, said that the meaningful activities will help promote friendship and understanding of the two countries, raise people’s awareness of the consequences of Agent Orange/Dioxin used by American troops in the war in Vietnam, as well as call for more community support for Agent Orange victims.
The opening and closing ceremonies will be broadcast live on VTV3 on November 1st and November 26th, respectively.
