PANO – A warm meeting was held on the afternoon of September 23rd at the headquarters of The Cong Club in Thanh Xuan, Hanoi to observe the club’s 54th Foundation Anniversary (September 23rd, 1954 – September 23rd, 2008).

The Cong is one of the highest profile football clubs in Vietnam.

Present at the meeting were all generations of the club’s leaders, coaches and athletes, representatives of the Military Training Department under the General Staff and Viettel (the Military Telecommunications Corporation), the sponsor of the club.

The club was founded 54 years ago by the National Defense Ministry in order to contribute towards the national sport movement.

Over time, the club won dozens of championships in the national first football division, and built up a unique identity of soldiers’ playing football for itself.

Currently, the club is one of the best teams in Vietnam’s professional football division.

In addition to the meeting, music and sport activities and exchanges were also held for athletes from different generations.
