Themed “Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum – Eternal Flowers Monument”, the exhibition is organized into four sections, displaying photos and valuable documents on the construction of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum. The items on display also feature environmental protection activities around the Mausoleum area, and visits of leaders of the Party, State, heads of state, people and foreign visitors to the Mausoleum in the past years.
After the death of President Ho Chi Minh, the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Protection High Command undertook a mission on November 29 in 1969to preserve President Ho Chi Minh’s body and build a mausoleum.
On September 2nd in 1973, high-ranking officials Truong Chinh, Nguyen Luong Bang, Vo Nguyen Giap and Do Muoi co-chaired a ceremony in Ba Dinh Square to launch the construction of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum.
After two years of construction, the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum was inaugurated in Ba Dinh Square on August 20, 1975.
At the ceremony, Truong Chinh said that the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum was a political and ideological structure which played an important role in expressing Vietnamese people’s love for Uncle Ho.
The Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Protection High Command has so far welcomed nearly 59 million people, including over 10 million foreign visitors.
In addition, the command also hosted groups for political activities, screened movies about President Ho Chi Minh and awarded President Ho Chi Minh badges, to name but a few.
Since the beginning of establishment, the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Protection High Command and subordinate units have excellently fulfilled their tasks of protecting the security of the Ho Chi Minh President Mausoleum as well as the body of President Ho Chi Minh.
