Troops of Brigade 144 and their twinned units visit a mobile library at Battalion 4 of Brigade 144 under the General Staff.

The exhibition aims to help readers learn more about the national patriotic tradition, glorious history, will of independence and freedom, indomitable mettle of our troops and people in the resistance wars against foreign invaders. It also confirms the role of books, reading, and military youth in national construction and defense.

Apart from the exhibition, the Military Library also hosted a workshop under the theme “Preservation and Development of Reading Culture in Industry 4.0,” during which book-lovers had a chance to exchange with writers and poets whose compositions are about soldiers. At the workshop, sharing of these writers and poets helped readers further comprehend the role of books and reading culture, importance of preserving and developing reading culture in the digital age, inspiring troops to develop book-reading habits and bring into play their capability to contribute to building and defending the Fatherland.

The Book and Reading Culture Week in the Military 2022 is hoped to develop the reading movement in the whole military; raise troops’ awareness of the great significance and importance of book reading to improve knowledge and skills, develop thinking, educate and train human personality, create a favorable reading environment in units as well as build reading habits in families, schools, agencies, organizations and communities. These will help honor book and reading culture contributors, raise responsibility of functional agencies and social organizations for building and developing reading culture in the military in particular and in the whole country in general.
