The organizing panel presents gifts to participating teams in the “Keepers of memory flame” program at the Vietnam Military History Museum. |
The event marked the 70th anniversary of the museum (July 17, 1956 - 2026) and the 79th anniversary of the Wounded Soldiers and Martyrs’ Day (July 27, 1947 - 2026). It not only highlighted the museum’s 70-year journey of development, but also paid profound tribute to fallen heroes, wounded and sick soldiers, and all those who sacrificed themselves for the cause of national liberation and defense.
Held in the museum’s main hall, the program featured three primary activities. In the first segment, “Rekindling memories - 70 years of museum establishment and development,” audiences watched documentaries showcasing the museum’s history, with a focus on the collection, preservation, and promotion of military historical heritage.

The second part, “Experiencing heritage - Connecting the past, spreading to the future,” engaged participants in interactive spaces, quizzes, presentations, and creative media challenges. These activities helped attendees better understand the military’s traditions and wartime stories of previous generations, thereby encouraging creativity and spreading the values of military cultural heritage among young people.
In the final activity, “Tribute to memories - Meeting historical witnesses,” Non-commissioned Colonel Tran Thanh Hang, a former officer of the museum’s Collection Division of the museum, shared emotional memories from her artifact-collecting journeys. Her stories reflected the passion and dedication of those working in heritage archiving and education.

Attending the event, Chu Minh Trang, a staff member of the museum’s Education and Communication Division, noted that the program filled her with pride to work in a field meaningful to history and the people, within a deeply traditional yet increasingly modern and professional environment. She added that she felt a greater sense of responsibility and passion to fulfill her daily duties as a “keeper of memory flame.”
