Held under the theme "The Beauty of Hanoi's Lotus," the festival takes place around West Lake and at cultural venues throughout Tay Ho ward to honor the lotus flower's enduring significance in Vietnamese culture while promoting Hanoi's cultural tourism identity.
In her opening remarks, Dang Huong Giang, Director of the Hanoi Department of Tourism, said the lotus has long symbolized the finest qualities, resilience, and spirit of the Vietnamese people. In Hanoi, she noted, the flower is not only a gift of nature, but also an integral part of the capital's cultural, artistic, and spiritual heritage.

She said the festival aims to implement the city's strategy for developing cultural industries, promoting heritage values, and creating new momentum for tourism and socio-economic growth while preserving and promoting Hanoi's traditional cultural identity.
According to the organizing committee, the festival runs from June 26 to 28 at three main venues in Tay Ho ward, including Ly Tu Trong Flower Garden, Tay Ho Creative Cultural Space, and Lac Long Quan Flower Garden, as well as in 16 communes and wards with lotus-growing areas across Hanoi. Visitors can explore exhibitions featuring more than 30 lotus varieties from Hanoi and other localities, displays of OCOP products, handicrafts, lotus tea, and lotus-inspired cuisine, along with art exhibitions, calligraphy, creative activities, folk performances, street art, and the "Lotus on the Streets" parade.
The festival also underscores Hanoi's commitment to developing distinctive cultural tourism products, promoting the capital as a safe, welcoming, and culturally rich destination for domestic and international visitors, while advancing cultural industries as a driver of the city's socio-economic development.

As part of the opening ceremony, the Quang An lotus tea scenting craft received the Certificate of National Intangible Cultural Heritage. The organizing committee also announced the Hanoi People's Committee's decision recognizing the West Lake Tourism Area and its surrounding region, reinforcing the area's cultural and tourism significance and supporting the future development of tourism in the capital.
