German Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City Andrea Maria Sühl announces information about the GBA Oktoberfest Vietnam 2026. |
She said the festival goes beyond a cultural event, promoting people-to-people exchanges and bringing the two cultures together in a joyful, open and friendly atmosphere. Such cultural exchanges provide an important foundation for strong diplomatic relations, she added.
She also highlighted the growing ties between Germany and central Viet Nam, saying the introduction of the long-standing German tradition to Da Nang marked a significant milestone. She praised cooperation among the German business community, particularly the German Business Association in Viet Nam (GBA), local partners and Da Nang authorities in fostering friendship and cultural exchange.
Germany Business Association (GBA) Chairman Alexander Ziehe said the Oktoberfest had long evolved beyond a traditional festival to become a bridge between the German and Vietnamese communities, creating opportunities for businesses, partners and people from both countries to connect.
The GBA currently has more than 630 members, including around 130 manufacturing companies that provide at least 35,000 jobs and have total investment capital of 3.5 billion USD. German businesses in Viet Nam are increasingly focusing on technology, innovation, digital business, and research and development alongside traditional manufacturing.
Ziehe said German companies would continue to expand investment and cooperation with Vietnamese businesses in line with Viet Nam’s focus on technology and innovation. German FDI is expected to increasingly target technology- and innovation-intensive sectors, with greater emphasis on the quality and depth of investment projects.
The 2026 festival will recreate a lively Bavarian atmosphere with performances by German-Austrian band O’zapft, traditional German cuisine prepared by experienced chefs, imported German beers and a range of non-alcoholic beverages.
According to organizers, the 2025 edition attracted more than 11,000 visitors, offering German food, live music and Bavarian-style festivities while connecting the German business community with local residents and international visitors.
GBA Oktoberfest Viet Nam 2026 is jointly organized by the GBA, the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce in Viet Nam (AHK Viet Nam), Furama Resort Danang and JW Marriott Hotel Hanoi, under the patronage of the German Embassy in Hanoi and the German Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City.
