The Hanoi Lotus Festival 2024 is kick-started. |
Addressing the event, Nguyen Manh Quyen, member of the Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Hanoi, said that in the mind of the Vietnamese people, lotus is a symbol of purity and represents the Vietnamese people’s mettle and soul identity.
In her speech, Laos’ chargé d'affaires Latana Siharaj emphasized high appreciation from foreign diplomatic corps in Hanoi for the great efforts of Hanoi and the important role of Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations in organizing activities to connect them.
She stressed that cultural diplomacy activities have helped boost friendship, mutual understanding between international friends and Hanoi people, contributing to popularizing a dynamic, developing Hanoi to the world.

Art performance at the event |
At the opening ceremony of the Hanoi Lotus Festival 2024, 1,200 amateur and professional artists entertained audiences with interesting art performances in combination with lighting technology, told stories of lotus and industrious and generous Hanoians.
At the event, Vietnamese record organization (Vietkings) presented certificates recognizing two new records of Vietnam: The highest number of cyclists engaged in Ho Tay cycling festive day and the event with the most people wearing the traditional Ao dai featuring lotus flowers in Vietnam.

During the five-day festival, there will be a number of activities popularizing lotus and lotus products. They include a display of OCOP products made from lotus and lotus specialties of Northern provinces, a lotus installation exhibition, a lotus photo exhibition, a musical evening entitled “Trinh Cong Son and friends,” and the first debut of a glass portrait of Uncle Ho made of nearly 2,000 photos of lotus flowers nationwide and an art work made of more than 20,000 lotus flowers.
