A series of art programs will be staged across central and suburban areas. The Ha Noi Cheo Theater will present a large-scale program at the Ba Kieu Temple flower garden in Hoan Kiem ward on September 1-2.
Other city theatres will bring performances to suburban localities. On August 31, the Thang Long Music and Dance Theater will perform in Dan Phuong commune, the Ha Noi Circus and Variety Arts Theater in Minh Chau commune, the Ha Noi Cai Luong Theater in Bat Trang commune, and the Thang Long Water Puppet Theater in Dai Xuyen commune. The Ha Noi Drama Theater will perform in Phuc Son commune on September 2.

At the area around My Dinh Stadium Square in Tu Liem ward, the Thang Long Music and Dance Theater will stage a program on September 2. The Ha Noi Cai Luong Theater will perform at Thong Nhat Park, while the Thang Long Water Puppet Theater will appear at Lac Long Quan Flower Garden.
The city will also present several programs showcasing Ha Noi’s cultural identity, including Net Duyen Cheo Ha Thanh (Charm of Ha Noi Cheo) on August 26, Chuyen Ha Noi – Mot ngay rat Ha Noi (A Ha Noi Story – A Very Ha Noi Day) on August 29, and the Cai Luong play Nguoi con gai Ha Thanh (The Daughter of Ha Noi).
Around 50 mobile film screenings will be held in outlying communes, while 20 screenings are scheduled at Kim Dong Cinema and September 2 Cinema in Son Tay ward during August and early September.
Exhibitions will also form part of the celebrations. The photo exhibition Radiant Vietnam will run from August 28 to September 6 at 93 Dinh Tien Hoang Street. A book and newspaper display on National Day will be held at Ha Noi Library, while the Trang Tien area will host displays of creative products from traditional craft villages and a contemporary handicraft art space.
At the Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam special national relic site, visitors can take part in folk games, cultural performances, heritage experiences, a reading festival, workshops and activities inspired by traditional crafts and heritage.
The Hoa Lo Prison Relic will host meetings with historical witnesses, theatrical performances and the special exhibition Steadfast Heart, Steel Will, marking the 81st anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day.
The Ha Noi Museum will feature exhibitions and public programs, including a master-plan exhibition on the capital with a 100-year vision and the Ha Noi in My Heart photo display.
A major highlight will be a 15-minute fireworks display at five locations from 9pm on September 2. The five launch sites are in front of the Ha Noi Moi Newspaper headquarters, in front of Ha Noi Post Office, Dua (Coconut) Islet in Thong Nhat Park, the F1 race track in the National Sports Complex, and Lac Long Quan Flower Garden in Tay Ho ward.
