PANO - Thirty eight big-sized photos on cavas capturing Vietnamese women in the Ao dai (traditional Vietnamese long dress) by painter and photographer Nguyen Quoc Dung will be showcased on November 3 at 29 Hang Bai gallery, Hanoi.

The 38 displayed photos tell 38 different stories of Vietnamese women through the lens of the photographer with good lay-outs, colors and light. The image of women in the Ao dai, which is familiar to any Vietnamese women, look fresher and optimistic.

Also at the exhibition, photographer Nguyen Quoc Dung will introduce his other typical works to viewers.

Graduating from the Hanoi University of Industrial Fine Arts, painter and photographer Nguyen Quoc Dung (also known as Dzung Art) is keen on taking photos of Vietnamese women in the Ao dai. He has opened dozens of exhibitions at home and abroad.

The photographer stressed that in modern life, the Ao dai is seldom worn by Vietnamese women.

“Via these photos, I would like to bring to viewers the values of women’s soul and their grace. Women in the Ao dai always look beautiful in any circumstances and at any age. That is also my way of preserving the Vietnamese cultural values”, he said.

After the exhibition in Hanoi, the photos will be on display in Ho Chi Minh City from February 7 to 25, 2017.
