The activity is held in celebration of President Ho Chi Minh’s 133rd birthday anniversary (May 19, 1890 - 2023) and 65 years since he started living and working in his stilt house in the Presidential Palace (May 17, 1958 - 2023)

The exhibition is divided into two parts. The first one introduces photos and documents in the 1945-1954 period when President Ho Chi Minh founded the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, built the people’s administration system, pursued diplomatic solutions to protect the revolutionary achievements, and led the long-term resistance war against the French colonialists (1945-1954).

Meanwhile, the second one features photos and documents in the 1954-1969 period as he led the process of building socialism and protecting the North, and conducting the national liberation revolution in the South, and expanding diplomatic relations to mobilize support and help of the international community.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Director of the State Archives and Records Department Dang Thanh Tung underscored that many decrees with President Ho Chi Minh’s handwritten autographs or signatures showcased this time are evidence of his sound leadership in the early years of building the administration, and during the resistance war to protect national independence, such as President’s appeal for national resistance on December 19, 1946, and his writings calling for national patriotic emulation in 1948. These documents are currently archived at the National Archives Center III.
