PANO – The Prime Minister has signed a decision to recognize 12 individual objects and groups of objects as national treasures.

The recognized include Dong Son Culture’s Huu Chung Bronze Drum preserved at the Hai Duong provincial Museum; Thanh Mai Bell (dating back to 798) kept at Hanoi Museum; 82 stone steles at the Temple of Literature (dating back to 1484); the “Khon Nguyen Chi Duc Chi Bi” stele from the 15th century at Lam Kinh historical relic site in Thanh Hoa province; Thuy Mon Temple stele from 1670 at the Lang Son Provincial Museum; the Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva (Thousand-Hand-Thousand-Eye) statue (dating back to the 16th century) at the Da Xuyen Pagoda in Hanoi; a set of three Buddhist statues (dating back to the 17th century) at Thay Pagoda in Hanoi; Buddhist statues of the Tay Son reign (dating back to 1788-1802) at the Tay Phuong Pagoda in Ha Noi; Linga with the Face of Shiva (dating back to the 8th century) preserved at the My Son Sanctuary Management Board in Quang Nam Province; Finely crafted railings from the 12th century at the Nam Dinh Provincial Museum; the MIG-21 fighter No. 4324 from the anti-American war at the Vietnam Military History Museum in Hanoi; the "Ho Chi Minh Campaign's Combat Plan" map at the Military History Museum.
With the recognition, Vietnam now has 79 national treasures.
