Laos honor leaders of Vietnam with noble orders
PANO – A ceremony to award the first-, second-, and third-class Orders of Freedom of the Lao People's Democratic Republic to Party, State leaders of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam was held on September 4 in Hanoi.
Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Head of the Central Commission for Mass Mobilization Truong Thi Mai and President of the Lao Front for National Construction Saysomphone Phomvihane attended the event.
The presentation of the noble orders is to acknowledge the contributions of the Party, State leaders of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to enhancing the traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.
On the occasion of 55th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam-Laos diplomatic ties (September 5) and 40th anniversary of the signing of the Vietnam-Laos Treaty on Amity and Cooperation (July 18), the People's Democratic Republic of Laos decided to confer the orders on the leaders of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee, the Central Commission for Mass Mobilization of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Committee for Ethnic Minority Affairs and the Government Committee for Religious Affairs.
At the event, the first-class Freedom Order (Itxala) was presented to Tran Thanh Man, President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee.
