A performance at the ceremony

Recently, Vietnam’s Can Tho City and the Lao provinces of Savanakhet and Champasac have enhanced their twinning relationship and built upon their existing solidarity and friendship. Apart from the support for Lao students, the city’s authorities also conducted agricultural development programs, constructed an irrigation system and provided fresh water for people in Champasac province.

At the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Can Tho municipal People’s Committee Truong Quang Hoai stressed that the city would provide further training for Lao staff and students in the future, especially in such fields as agriculture and aquaculture. He also reaffirmed the city’s commitment of providing favorable conditions for the cooperation with Lao localities.

Having been delighted and moved by the solemn celebration for the 55th anniversary of Vietnam-Laos diplomatic relations in Can Tho, Lao Consul General Somxay Sanam-Oune noted that the ceremony was practical and meaningful, contributing to the Vietnam-Laos and Laos-Vietnam Year of Solidarity and Friendship.

Within the framework of activities in celebration of the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Laos, on September 4, Vietnamese and Lao students joined a cultural exchange program at Can Tho University.
