Ca Mau, Cambodia’s Preah Sihanouk province promote friendship, cooperation
A delegation from Cambodia’s Preah Sihanouk province, led by Deputy Governor Em Pheap, visited and extended Lunar New Year (Tet) greetings to the southern province of Ca Mau on February 4.

The Cambodian official congratulated Vietnam on the success of the 14th National Party Congress. Praising Vietnam’s dynamic development achievements under the Party’s leadership in recent years, he affirmed that Cambodia always attaches importance to and continues to nurture the traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation and sustainable relationship between the two countries.
He said Preah Sihanouk and Ca Mau established a twinning relationship and signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in 2014, noting this year Preah Sihanouk hopes to sign a new cooperation agreement for the next 10 years between the two localities.
Em Pheap expressed his hope that the solidarity and friendship between Cambodia and Vietnam, including between Preah Sihanouk and Ca Mau, will continue to grow stronger.
Vice Chairman of the Ca Mau provincial People’s Committee Huynh Chi Nguyen expressed his delight at the strengthened solidarity and friendship between the two provinces.
Since the signing of the cooperation MoU in 2014, the two localities have regularly maintained delegation exchanges, mutual visits and the exchange of traditional New Year greetings, contributing to deepening the traditional friendship between the two countries, he said.
Briefing the guests on Ca Mau’s socio-economic development, Nguyen said that last year the province recorded many positive results, with economic growth estimated at around 8%, average gross regional domestic product (GRDP) per capita reaching about 80 million VND (3,080 USD), and export turnover exceeding 2.6 billion USD.
He expressed his hope that the friendship and cooperation between the two provinces will continue to develop in a sustainable manner.
